OPTIMA batteries are loved by many people. They have an eye catching unique shape and employ a color scheme that is almost a brand unto itself: RED Top, YELLOW Top, and BLUE Top. Many people trumpet the spiral celled OPTIMA as the best AGM battery. No longer did they wish to reside in the shadow of Enersys. They recognized the world needed to know they truly are the leading manufacturer of all types of sealed AGM thin plate batteries. They obviously still private label for companies, and still dominate in their core market. They started marketing their line direct to consumers and businesses. Without much fanfare, NorthStar Battery Company began placing the NorthStar name on their deep cycle marine and automotive batteries. But a couple years ago, they had an epiphany. They then began to private label AGM pure lead dual purpose automotive batteries for various multi-nationals and big box stores as well as for other independently owned and operated battery brands. Went out to the car to install it (after the guy gave me hell saying they closed soon so to just buy tools and do it ckily I had what I needed anyway so no biggie) and the car did start with the original battery. Would've preferred that Motorcraft 1000 but oh well.I needed one. This battery matches the OEM specs, so I guess it'll work OK. Heh, they didn't even list a battery for the Marauder, I made the guy search under Grand Marquis. Out of stock, store closing in 15mins, and me supposed to getup in the morning to leave. Hit advance autoparts seeing if they had Optimas. I jumped it with the 'stang, and headed down the road. Has some juice, but no where near enough.

Since I'm taking the Marauder on a trip tommorrow morning, I decided to take it for a drive tonight and top off the 93 octane. So the Marauder was getting beat up in stop and go, stoplight traffic. Well, not so much that, but my commute isn't all that long anymore, but still stop and go. So I was all in this hype that I was driving my Marauder too much.
